Trip Detail

Soaring into the sky, Island Peak 6160m is situated in the Everest region of Nepal. It is one of the most popular 6000m classic trekking peaks in Nepal and it has a little bit of everything: spectacular trekking, glacier walk, steep climbing on fixed lines and a beautiful summit ridge with truly incredible views of Makalu, Lhotse, Barentse, Ama Dablam and many other peaks.

The peak is part of the south ridge of Lhotse Shar and the main land forms a semicircle of cliffs that rise to the north of the summits of Nuptse, Lhotse, Middle Peak and Lhotse Shar. Cho Polu and Makalu lie to the east of the Island Peak. Baruntse, Amphu and Ama Dablam lie to the south.

Our trip itinerary offers enough time to acclimatize enjoying the incredible scenery of the Everest region before climbing Island Peak as our first goal is to trek to Everest Base Camp and nearby Kala Pattar for spectacular views of Mount Everest and nearby peaks. This is a great climbing trip, with a rewarding summit day, and an ideal way to get into the lofty world of Himalayan mountaineering.

In addition to climbing, the trip gives you "the grand tour" of the famous Khumbu valley where beautiful, multi-hued prayer flags, prayer wheels and intricately carved Mani stones line every hilltop, rock wall and trailside.

Dear Chhiring,
I had a chance to experience first hand professionalism, courtesy and dedication of you and your team to achieve set goals through this journey. Twice I came to Nepal and had a chance to experience 2 routes once to Everest Base Camp directly and another one going through Gokyo lakes, Chola Pass and Base camp . This last time I did with my son so it was even more rewarding. I was very touched by the way you handled all procedures from the time we landed in Kathmandu, the trek itself and accommodations throughout the trek , Kathmandu sightseeing and the final drop to airport. We always felt safe and you ensured we ate the right food to avoid any issues. Under all circumstances I would recommend you and your tour and I am contemplating doing more treks with you in next future. Thank you Chhiring and Rinji

I am retired and wishing that I were much younger! Chhiring Sherpa was our guide on the Annapurna Circuit. He was recommended by a friend who has done eight treks in Nepal. We had originally planned on doing the circuit without a guide or porter. Hiring him proved to be the best decision we made. Without him, we would not have completed our trek.

Not only did he give us excellent advice prior to our departure, he constantly assessed our progress and adjusted the pace and distances to accommodate us. When we wanted to turn back, his quiet words would motivate us to keep on going or at least to postpone the decision until the next morning. Thankfully, that decision was never made. His knowledge of Nepalese culture also made our trek so much more interesting. He expertly guided us through an environment that is hostile to the human body, trespassing through the playground of the gods. It was difficult but unimaginably magnificent!

I have no hesitations in recommending his services. He will take very good care of you!
