Trip Detail
The Gokyo valley is one of the most dramatic and interesting trekking area in the Everest region. This trek takes you through friendly Sherpa villages, monasteries and forests with wildlife unveiling the dramatic mountain scenery. We fly to Lukla, the starting point of the trek and follow the Dudh Kosi Valley to Namche Bazaar and then trek into Gokyo Valley. The trail ascends gradually and we enjoy a series of short trekking days to ensure proper acclimatization, walking beside the moraines of Ngozumpa Glacier and turquoise lakes to reach Gokyo.
We climb Gokyo Ri (5353m) early in the morning to view all of the region’s 8000-metre peaks including Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho-oyu – a breathtaking panorama.
