Trip Detail
The trek to the foot of breathtaking Everest, the world’s highest mountain is quite possibly the most popular but challenging trek in Nepal with the most dramatic and picturesque views. The famous walk up to Everest Base Camp offers an opportunity to experience everything that makes a trek in the Everest region so special with many of the world's highest mountains to admire.
Visiting villages set against soaring peaks, get to know the unique culture of the Sherpas and walk along the trails lined with mani stones, engraved with Tibetan Buddhist prayers, discovering remote mountain monasteries and learning about the Sherpas’ spiritual perspective in their homeland and, of course, a visit to the most famous base camp in the world are the most interesting highlights of the trip.
The Everest Base Camp trek begins with flight into the airstrip of Lukla and then three hours walk to Phakding a small town located by the river. We continue our trek north up to Dudh Koshi Valley and to Namche Bazaar a small town nestled on a hillside with major mountains all around and the trading hub of the region through Everest National Park. From Namche Bazaar the trek route gradually ascends the Khumbu valley on well formed trails providing foot access between Sherpa villages with magnificent scenery and which ultimately lead us to Everest Base Camp, our dreamed destination of the trek. This trek has the ability to astonish you with new and interesting experiences every day as there is always plenty to see and assimilate along the way. On our return we retrace the same route to Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu.
