Trip Detail

This trek is considered the high altitude trek that takes us to the fresh water lake Tilicho (4920m) the highest lake in the world. The trail leads us through ancient villages dominated by wide diversity of people belonging to different ethnic groups. Around the Tilicho Lake we find the wild beauty and the majestic views of the snowy Himalayas. It is advisable to do this trek in the summer time.

The trek starts from Bensisahar and continues along the Marshyangdi River gorge through the remote valley of Manang to crest the arid, windswept northern flank of Annapurna at the Thorong-La, with great views of Manaslu and Himal Chuli to the east. From the pass of Thorong La the trek leads down to Muktinath and then fly back to Jomsom.

 

Tilicho Lake Trek Itinerary

Day1: Arrival at airport and transfer to hotel.
Day 2: Explore Kathmandu.
Day 3: Early morning drive to Bensisgar 760 meter.
Day 4: Trek to Boundada 1310 meter.
Day 5: Trek to Tal 1700 meter.
Day 6: Trek to Chame 2670 meter.
Day 7: Trek to Pisang 3200 Meter.
Day 8: Trek to Manang 3540 meter.
Day 9: Acclimatizing day at Manang.
Day10: Trek to Khangsar 3734 meter.
Day11: Trek to Tilicho Lake 4150 meter.
Day12: Trek to Khangsar.
Day13: Trek to Thorang Phedi 4450 meter.
Day14: Early morning crosses snow covered Throng-La Pass 5416 meter. Overnight at Muktinanth 3798 meter, the temple is famous for Hindus and Buddhist devotees.
Day15: Trek to Jomsom 2720 meter.
Day16: Early morning fly to Pokhara. Check into hotel.
Day17: Early morning fly to Kathmandu. Check into hotel.
Day18: Departure to airport.
