Trip Detail

The beautiful Bumthang valley is the religious heartland of Bhutan and home to some of its oldest Buddhist temples and monasteries. The three days trek passes through several villages on its meandering route through Bumthang countryside and provides an exceptional opportunity to contact with Bhutanese rural life and experience their rich culture and tradition. We also get an opportunity to visit several Buddhist monasteries along the trekking route. This trek is easy and ideal for average walkers though there involves some ascents of about 500m.

 

Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival Paro & transfer to hotel

Day 02: After breakfast drive to Thimphu (2 hrs. drive), O/N at Thimpu

Day 03: Thimphu sightseeing, O/N at Thimphu

Day 04: After breakfast drive to Wangdue Phodrang (3-hrs)

Day 05: Drive to Trongsa (5 hrs)

Day 06: Drive to Bumthang (3 hrs)

Day 07: Bumthang sightseeing

Day 08: Trek begins from Toktu Zampa to Ngang Lhakhang (4/5 hrs)

Day 09: Trek to Tahung (6 hrs)

Day 10: Trek ends at Mesitang (5/6 hrs), O/N at Bumthang

Day 11: Drive to Wangdue Phodrang (6/7 hrs)

Day 12: Drive to Thimphu (3 hrs)

Day 13: Drive to Paro

Day 14: Fly back to Kathmandu or any other destinations
